The DFM-3 is a reliable moisture meter that can be used to easily and safely determine the residual moisture content in solids, especially in plastic pellets. It has a robust and compact design and is easy to transport. For these reasons, there are many possibilities for direct use at the production site.
This measuring device chemically determines the water content of the granulate sample. The sample is heated in the reactor, water is converted into hydrogen and the hydrogen content is recorded by a sensor. This patented measuring method specifically detects the water content; other ingredients are not measured.
The sample is heated in the sample pan and water vaporises. Then moist hot gas flows into the upper part of the reactor. After that the reagent exchanges water for hydrogen. In the next step the sensor measures the hydrogen concentration. The cooled gas sinks and can absorb water again.
The moisture analyser is controlled by a PC programme. This programme gives the user precise instructions so that operating errors are avoided. The measurement is simple and can be carried out in just a few steps. Each measurement requires approx. 2 minutes of work or preparation time. Filling is carried out with image-supported instructions from the programme. This type of operation makes using the moisture analyser considerably easier. Material libraries and measurement logs can also be created. Even beginners are able to carry out an error-free measurement thanks to the simple operation.
