Hot Air Dryers

Hot air dryers from Digicolor, also known as warm air dryers, are used flexibly for preheating and surface drying of plastic pellets – either centrally or directly next to the processing machine. Thanks to their small footprint, these dryers can be integrated very easily into the storage areas of injection moulding machines and extruders. Hot air dryers from Digicolor only require a power connection – compressed air and cooling water are not required. For this reason, all hot air dryers up to 800 litres hopper volume can be offered as mobile side dryers on castors.

Efficient hot air drying from Digicolor

These kind of dryers are simpler in design than dry air dryers and work by heating ambient air and blowing it continuously over the material. This type of dryer is better suited to plastics that are less sensitive to moisture and where less stringent control of drying conditions is required. Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (PE), including High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE), and Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) are plastics that are commonly dried with hot air dryers. These have a lower tendency to absorb moisture or mainly have surface moisture. Hot air dryers are used, for example, in the extrusion of pipes or technical profiles.

  • installed on an industrial frame
  • optionally with platform, railing, ladder and back protection
